Protocols of business

Dirt & Free Herbal Arts is and has always been a one-person operation, created and managed by a neurodivergent person of color with the intent of providing herbal support and education, and facilitating deeper connection with the non-human world. Dirt & Free Herbal Arts is my primary source of income, and I work hard to curate this creative practice in ways that honor my needs and values, and allow multiple points of access to my work through radical pricing structures and mutual aid.

All protocols of business articulated below allow for integrity of the creation of herbal remedies for the community by Dirt & Free Herbal Arts.

Estimated herb shop shipping times

In 2025, any items purchased in the herb shop will be mailed after the shop closes for the season, in the order they were received. Orders are shipped via the United States Postal Service, and confirmation and tracking numbers are sent by email. At this time, Dirt & Free Herbal Arts is not able to ship internationally outside of the so-called US.

Missing or damaged packages

All orders are thoroughly wrapped and prepared for smooth transit, and a tracking number is provided upon shipping for your convenience. Unfortunately, missing and damaged packages still do happen in this imperfect and increasingly dysfunctional system in which we exist. Dirt & Free Herbal Arts is not responsible for lost or damaged packages and does not offer refunds for these situations. All packages are insured up to $100, and if your package goes missing or arrives damaged, you can contact your local post office branch or go to USPS.com to file a claim and be refunded directly. To do this, you will need:

  • The order tracking number (sent with shipping confirmation via email)

  • A photo of the package if it arrived damaged

Local pick-up

In 2025, order pick-up is available on select market days at the North Durham Farmers Market (1016 Old Oxford Rd, Durham, NC 27704). Upcoming pick-up dates will be shown and confirmed at checkout. If you are no longer able to pick up your order on the selected day, please email peregrine@dirtandfree.world as soon as possible to schedule an alternate pick up day. Otherwise, unclaimed orders may be gifted to neighbors or farmers.
