Freedom Fighter Herbs
Freedom Fighter Herbs is a community practice and one of my creative homes. FFH is a collective mutual aid effort on lands colonially known as Chicago, intended to support local organizers, care workers, and folks who experience police brutality in somatic wellness and relationship to plant kindred.

Bioregional + ancestral herbalism
Humans are always and have always been adapting alongside plants, and our relationship with the land is ultimately what sustains us. When we learn with the plants who grow around us, we are more observant and connected to the places we call home.
Freedom Fighter herbs distributes free herbal medicine crafted in alignment with seasons and cycles of the midwest. Offerings feature locally abundant and kitchen-accessible herbs and strive to uplift Indigenous and melanated medicine makers.
This project is as much an invitation to re-member our oldest medicine ways as it is a response to the times we are surviving.

Community-funded care
Direct investment in community requires us to consider the culture we wish to embody, the gifts we have to offer, and the needs we have to meet. This looks like redistribution of resources as well as shifting mainstream systems of care.
Contributions to this project go toward equitable exchange with Chicago-based collaborators. We exchange knowledge, herbs, finished medicine, tools, art and labor. We accept donations of organic herbs and containers seasonally.
Imperialist white supremacist capitalist heteropatriarchy (in the words of beloved ancestor bell hooks) will not protect us. We will protect us.
