✹ Herbal Consultations ✹

You’re here because you’re ready to deepen into connection with other-than-human kin.

Maybe you’re navigating chronic health concerns, preparing for or emerging from a big change, feeling stuck in your creative process, seeking a space of witness and accountability as you adapt to an increasingly chaotic world…or all of the above!

It would be an honor to join your care team.

My practice centers queer and trans, BIPOC, and disabled community members, who know in our bones that patterns of modern dis-ease are manufactured and worsened by colonialism and racial capitalism…so as your herbalist, I won’t tell you that herbs are the key to resolving all your problems, and I will work with your meds.

What I’ve experienced in my own body and through client and community work is that the plants, fungi, algae, animals - our other-than-human kin - remind us that we are never out of relationship, and offer accompaniment, wisdom, and tangible support on multiple levels. Sometimes they offer us a taste of the softness for which our inner child yearns. Sometimes they stoke the fires of our digestion to help process the shit we hold in our gut. When called upon, they remind us that we are of the earth, and that we belong to the land. Herbs can offer protection and inspire courage, and they can help us to stay focused on what we are here to do.

Working with herbs

Herbal medicine is most effective with consistency over time, usually alongside other lifestyle shifts and rituals. While there may be immediate benefits to starting an herbal protocol, system-wide change can require more patience and grace. When possible I recommend booking a follow-up appointment to track your experiences, refill your blends, and remix as needed.

Curious to dive deeper? I have one offering for new clients, and another for returning clients.

New client consultation package

The herbal consultation package is for new clients. It includes an intake herbal consultation, outtake consultation, and first follow-up appointment.

The intake herbal consultation (75-90 minutes) is aprivate virtual call with a clinical herbalist. During our time together, we'll talk through your health needs and goals to begin co-creating a protocol with herbs that I will blend, recommend, or source. Within one week of our call, after thorough research and review, I will follow up by email to propose customized herbal formulas, additional recommendations as requested, and schedule an optional outtake consultation.

The outtake herbal consultation (15-20 minutes) is an optional call to discuss your custom formulas and how to take your herbs. This can be especially helpful if you are new to herbal medicine or have additional questions.

The follow-up appointment (30-45 minutes) is for tracking change and progress, adjusting your herbal formulas or dosage, and sharing other updates around your health. I recommend most clients schedule a follow-up appointment 6-8 weeks after the intake consultation.

I see clients on Mondays, Fridays, and Sundays.

Pricing and payment options

The entire consultation package is $200. Herbs (generally $30-60) and shipping will be invoiced separately. Pick up is also available in Durham NC. Payment plans are available for all services. Inquire about trades by email.

Returning client follow-up appointments

After the first follow-up, I recommend most clients schedule a follow-up appointment (30-45 minutes) every 4-6 weeks. Follow-up appointments can be scheduled by returning clients at any point, but if it has been over 1 year since we have worked together I may ask you to book a new client package.

I see clients on Mondays, Fridays, and Sundays.

Pricing and payment options

A follow-up appointment is $50. Herbs (generally $30-60) and shipping will be invoiced separately. Pick up is also available in Durham NC. Payment plans are available for all services. Inquire about trades by email.

Herb sourcing

Dirt & Free Herbal Arts stands with the Palestinian-led BDS (Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions) movement for permanent divestment from “israeli” agriculture, an end to the occupation and genocide of Palestinian people, and the liberation of all oppressed people. I’ve been following and supporting this campaign since 2015 and do my best to verify sourcing information from distributors, as well as directly source from farms with high quality herbs and regenerative land practices. I’m also imperfect in this process and open to feedback, knowledge exchange, and collaboration.
